Key Takeaways

  • Invest America says the Dell $250 deposits were completed on October 9, 2026.
  • The funded ZIP cutoff is Median Family Income of $117,300 or less, for children born 2016–2024.
  • The original announcement was $150,000 or less. After auto-enrollment, the $6.25 billion still covered 25 million children, so the cutoff moved down.
  • Military-base children are included at any ZIP. Claims and Form 4547 filings before October 1, 2026 stay under the earlier rules.
  • NJ.com counted 258 of 723 New Jersey ZIP codes. AL.com told parents to check the ZIP and did not publish an Alabama count.

Local news is telling parents the same thing. The Michael and Susan Dell $250 may already be in a child’s Trump Account. The way to check is the ZIP code, not your family’s paycheck.

AL.com (Leada Gore, October 13, 2026) told parents to check the ZIP because the deposit may already be there. NJ.com reported the New Jersey result of that same rule. The rule itself comes from Invest America and the Dells.

⚠️ A news map is not the official list

If your ZIP is missing from a local story, check it here and on Invest America. Census ZIP code areas and a news outlet’s map do not always use the same set of ZIP codes.

Check your ZIP

This estimate uses Census Median Family Income for the ZIP code area. It does not check birth year, a military address, or whether you filed before October 1. Invest America and the Trump Accounts app are the source of truth.

Enter your ZIP code

We check Census Median Family Income (MFI) — the same metric Dell / Invest America use — not median household income and not your personal income.

No data is stored. Everything runs in your browser. Always confirm at Invest America ZIP checker or the Trump Accounts app.

Who received the $250

  • Born 2016–2024. The $1,000 federal deposit is a different window: births 2025–2028.
  • ZIP Median Family Income of $117,300 or less. Your own income does not decide it. Household income is a different Census number and is usually lower.
  • Military bases. Eligible children living on base are included even when the ZIP is above the cutoff.
  • Earlier sign-ups. If you claimed the account or filed Form 4547 before October 1, 2026, Invest America says the child stays under the rules in effect then. That earlier announcement used $150,000 or less.
  • Foster care. The Dells say funds are reserved for children in foster care, with those deposits expected next year.

There is no separate Dell form. Invest America says the deposits were finished on October 9, 2026. Open the official Trump Accounts app, or trumpaccounts.gov, and claim the account to see the balance.

Why the cutoff is $117,300, not $150,000

In December 2025, the Dells said the gift would reach children in ZIP codes with Median Family Income of $150,000 or less, up to 25 million children. Families had to enroll.

Automatic enrollment then put accounts in place for tens of millions of children. The pledge stayed at $6.25 billion, which is $250 for 25 million children. Invest America says funding started in the lowest-income ZIP codes and stopped when 25 million children were reached. The final cutoff, as of October 9, 2026, is $117,300 or less.

AL.com described Trump Accounts as already in place for about 60 million children. A White House statement reported by Newsweek on October 7, 2026 said nearly 70 million accounts had been created, including more than 60 million through auto-enrollment. Those are two different counts from two sources. Neither number means every child received the Dell $250.

New Jersey: 258 of 723 ZIP codes

NJ.com reported that 258 of 723 New Jersey ZIP codes on its map got the $250. That is about 36%. New Jersey had one of the lowest shares in the country. Only Connecticut (34.3%) and Massachusetts (34.5%) were lower on that analysis.

New Jersey’s statewide median income is under $117,300. That does not mean most New Jersey ZIP codes qualified. High-income ZIP codes pulled the other way. See the New Jersey grants page and still check the specific ZIP.

Alabama: check the ZIP

AL.com did not publish a count of Alabama ZIP codes. It told parents to look up the ZIP because the money may already be deposited.

In our Census file, about 93% of Alabama ZIP code areas in prefixes 350–369 have Median Family Income of $117,300 or less. That is our count of Census areas. It is not AL.com’s map, and it is not a list of who was paid. Confirm the ZIP on Invest America. The Alabama grants page has the same note.

✅ What to do next

Check the ZIP above. Then claim the account in the official app if you have not already. The $250, if it was deposited, shows up there. More on the pledge is in the Dell explainer and how to see the $250.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Dell $250 already in my child’s Trump Account?
Invest America says all Dell deposits were made by October 9, 2026. There is no separate application. Claim the account in the official Trump Accounts app to see whether the $250 is there.
What ZIP codes got the Dell $250?
The funded rule is Median Family Income of $117,300 or less (Census ACS 2020–2024), for children born 2016–2024. That is not your family’s own income, and it is not median household income. The December 2025 announcement used $150,000 or less.
Did every New Jersey ZIP code get $250?
No. NJ.com reported that 258 of 723 New Jersey ZIP codes on its map received the $250, about 36%. Confirm your ZIP at Invest America. A news map is not the official list.
Did Alabama publish a list of qualifying ZIP codes?
AL.com told parents to check the ZIP because the $250 may already be deposited. It did not publish an Alabama ZIP count. Use Invest America or the checker on this page.
Can a ZIP above $117,300 still have the $250?
Yes, in two cases Invest America describes. Children on military bases are included regardless of ZIP. Children who were claimed, or filed on Form 4547, before October 1, 2026 stay under the rules in effect then.
